Logan, a 12 year boy from the small town of Troy Illinois, started his Thanksgiving holiday with a sinus infection. He was treated with Amoxicillin which, in turn, led to an allergic reaction. Meanwhile, Logan continued to get worse with mono like symptoms.

After multiple doctors visits and getting nowhere, Logan's parent took him to Cardinal Glennon Emergency Room in St. Louis, Missouri. His parents were hoping to hear that Logan had a severe case of mono, unfortunately, this was not the outcome. 

They never expected this word, that changed their lives in an instant -cancer. Leukemia, All PH Leukemia to be exact. At this time, the world renown Cardinal Glennon Hospital has only had two cases of All PH Leukemia. Logan's battle will be tough, but Logan is tougher! 

 A bone marrow retrieval, spinal fluids removed, a pick line added and chemo started, all before he came out of anesthesia. With minutes to process this, Logan's parents had to tell Logan and his older sister Alyssa what their new world would be. A world of hospital stays, chemo treatments, few visitors for fear of infection, and more doctors, nurses and terminology then one can process. 

Logan spent the next 30 days at Cardinal Glennon to undergo treatments. Within two weeks of his return home, Logan had to begin the process of extensive chemo treatments. Once in the hospital and the rest administered at home by a visiting nurse. 

People who know the family can tell you they love with their whole heart. What we are trying to do, as a team, is to try and help offset a huge financial burden this family will now face. 

Logan runs cross country at his middle school and probably understands this analogy best - this is not a sprint, but a long race. We, #TeamLoganKowalski, are his biggest cheerleaders and can't wait to see him cross the finish line a healthy, happy, brave, young man.
