Cara produces hundreds of jobs each year, at one-year, same-firm retention rates over 20 points higher than national norms and with more than 70% of those retained residing in permanent housing in which their families can thrive.
Cara also maintains market-competitive social enterprises: Cleanslate, an exterior maintenance crew working in more than 40 Chicago communities, and Cara Connects, a mission-driven staffing firm placing candidates in temp-to-perm employment with leading Chicago companies. In addition to being revenue generating operations, these businesses create transitional jobs for Cara's participants to build their resumes and workforce experience while they continue their Cara journey to permanent, gainful employment.
Cara Connects has partnered with HHPLIFT to supply top-level talent to fill more than 15 temporary and permanent job roles within the organization. Further, Cara is proud to stand with HHPLIFT to help advance their mission to support and expand job opportunities for people with significant barriers to fair-wage employment.
